The Dystopian Nights
It has been quite some time since I last saw a clear night sky. Actually not even a clean dark black patch. Bangalore night sky is bathed in the city lights. It is usually very cloudy. And when it is completly overcast, the city lights are reflected from the clouds. It seems like a huge halogen lamp covering the city.
As a result you never really have pitch darkness. The glow is enough to provide illumination even during a powercut.
The orange night sky is sometimes quite dystopian when you think about it. It reminds me of the scene from the 'Solaris' where the alien planet is covered in confusing clouds. These skies are also reminiscent of a scene from the movie Matrix, where Morpheus tells Neo that the humans put up the dark clouds in the skies in order to block out the sunlight.
The condition is not so bad at twilight. You can still see the stars. But once it is beyond 8 pm, all you can see are orange patches. The picture was taken around 11 pm.
